The regional transportation authority is ramping up the transition to the new way for boarding SkyTrain and SeaBus.

This morning, fare gates are closed at many stations. This means that transit riders require a Compass card or a Compass pass to tap into the system.

FareSavers can still be used on the buses.

By Friday (April 8), TransLink plans to close all fare gates at SkyTrain and SeaBus stations.

Passengers must pay $6 for a Compass card, which can be refunded if it's returned to TransLink. Information on loading Compass cards is available here.
