Vancouver police have seized the vehicle that is believed to be involved in the hit-and-run that killed a 30-year-old skateboarder.

On April 17 around 2:30 a.m., a man on a skateboard was hit by a northbound car near Heather Street and West 54th Avenue. Instead of stopping, the driver left the scene.

Ryan Barron, who had been skateboarding with a friend at the time, died in hospital. He had moved to Vancouver from Windsor, Ontario.

On April 19, police found the vehicle, a silver Mitsubishi, in East Vancouver.

The vehicle is being processed by the Vancouver Police Forensics unit. However, police are still trying to confirm the identity of the driver of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to called the police at 604-717-3012 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
