The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified a 21-year-old Regina resident as the man who died at the Pemberton Music Festival on its opening night.

Police say they have notified the next of kin of Nick Phongsavath, whose death on July 18 is termed "suspicious".

He was an engineering student at the University of Regina.

According to the IHIT's Twitter account, foul play has not been confirmed.

Phongsavath was in the festival's camping area when he died. The cause of his death is still unknown.
