North Shore Rescue members rescued a 28-year-old man who went into cardiac arrest while hiking near Norvan Falls in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park on May 8.

NSR told the CBC that the hiker slipped and fell. When he struck his head, he went into cardiac arrest.

Rescuers used a longline and a stretcher with a CPR machine. He was airlifted out of the area in critical condition.

North Vancouver RCMP have turned the investigation over to the BC Coroners Service.

At the same time as the Norvan rescue, NSR also responded to a separate call for two lost hikers near Crown Mountain.

The two twenty-year-old male hikers, who were at risk for hypothermia due to only wearing light clothing and running shoes, were located and extracted by helicopter amid falling temperatures and fading light.
