A chaperone for an African Christian children's choir was the man found dead in an outdoor Burnaby swimming pool last month.

Edward Luvuuma, 33, was travelling across North America when he disappeared last fall. He was a teacher from Uganda.

Luvuuma was supposed to meet the choir and was reported missing when he didn't show up on November 13, 2015.

Today, the B.C. Coroners Service stated that Luvuuma "is believed to have died close to the time he was reported missing". His body was recovered on May 16, 2016.

The B.C. Coroners Service statement mentioned that there's no evidence that the owner of the pool knew Luvuuma.

Foul play is not suspected and Luvuuma's family has been notified of his death.
