Jack Chivo: Hamas Covenant reminds me of Adolf Hitler and Mein Kampf

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Almost 90 years ago a middle aged Austrian-naturalized German, who still resented being rejected by the Vienna School of Art because of lack of talent, dictated a manifesto to a prison mate, Rudolf Hess. It was later published in millions of copies, which finally caused the death of about 60 million people in Europe and elsewhere.

In it, he supported the killing of the people whom he despised, especially the Jews, but also other "undesirables", and pushed to conquer the world by slaughtering those who opposed his ideas.

His name was Adolf Hitler and the book was called Mein Kampf.

Unfortunately, nobody at the time beside his fanatic followers believed that he was a serious threat.

"How can a highly civilized country like Germany, which has given the world some of the greatest writers, statesmen, composers, scientists and philosophers, fall for the cheap propaganda of a nobody looking like a caricature of a non-Aryan and with a Charlie Chaplin moustache?" most people, not only in Germany but all over the world, wondered in disbelief.

      "It will never happen!"

Unfortunately, after mocking the führer, once he took power, the same politicians started accommodating him with "understanding" and compromises until his death lust spread around Europe and beyond. By then, it was too late and we all know the enormous price the world has paid for its silence and acquiescence.

Nowadays, there's another similar manifesto. the Hamas Covenant—the guiding principles of the rulers in Gaza, which can be found on thousands of websites and often appears to have been inspired by the Mein Kampf—but it is much more direct and sanguine. It's again being overlooked or minimized by many people, otherwise of good faith.

Are we bent of repeating an awful historical mistake??

Rather than making any personal comments, and because of space constraints, I will only quote verbatim a few excerpts from the Hamas Covenant as they appear in their writings, with not even one word added or removed. It would be advisable for those who want to be further educated to read the covenant in its entirety.

Chapter 7 (dealing with the universality of Hamas): "The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them) until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: Oh Muslims, there is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him!!

Chapter 8 "Allah is the goal, the Prophet the model to be followed, the Qu'ran its constitution, Jihad its way and the death for the sake of Allah its sublime belief!"

Chapter 10 (III) "This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia law and it is similar to all lands the Muslims have conquered by force, because, during the time of Islamic conquests, the Muslims consecrated these lands to Muslim generations to come till the Day of Judgement"

Chapter 13 "..since when did the Unbelievers do justice to the Believers? And the Jews will not be pleased with thee, nor will the Christians, thou they follow their religion (and) say: the direction of Allah is the only direction." ..."There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, propositions and international conferences are all a waste on time and vain endeavour"

Chapter 15 "I indeed wish to go to war for the sake of Allah, assault and kill, assault and kill!!"....."I swear by the holder of Mohammed's soul that I would like to invade and be killed for the sake of Allah, then invade and be killed, and then invade again and be killed."

Chapter 28 "The Zionist invasion is a vicious invasion. Its relies greatly in its infiltration and espionage operations of the secret organizations they gave rise to, such as the Freemasons, the Rotary and Lions clubs...They aim at undermining societies, destroying values...annihilating Islam. It is behind the drug trade and alcoholism in all its kinds"...."Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Muslim people."

Chapter 31 "Members of other religions must desist from struggling against Islam's sovereignty in this region"

Finally to those who want to respond, and I encourage all to do so, please read the Covenant, word by word.

With respect, Mr. Chivo, I sincerely hope you are not one of those people who are quick to protest when anti-Zionists use the H word (Hitler) or the N word (Nazis) when being critical of Israeli policies and treatment of Palestinians.
As insensitive (and deliberately provocative)as that may be, you have firmly established yourself in the same camp with this missive.

Well, Jack, I HAVE read the Covenant of the Hamas - and it is not pleasant reading. But which of the extracts quoted above call for the killing of our people? The first is surely a prediction that a war between Muslims and Jews will come; but even to your closed mind that can't be seen as the same thing as exhortation to kill us.

And, unless I miss my guess, you have never had the intellectual curiosity to read Mein Kampf. I have, and I'd be grateful if you can show me where - in that book - Hitler called for the extermination of Jews. He certainly didn't like us much and his book called for our expulsion from Europe. But, again, that's not the same as calling for us to be killed.

There is no question Hitler was evil and that he supported, or at least condoned, the massacre of many minorities - including a large number of Jews. But when you claim he called for that in Mein Kampf, which he did not, you are distorting the truth and rendering your argument suspect.

Hamas does not recognize Israel and wants to remove it from the face of the Earth

Israel does not recognize that the Palestinians have any right what so ever to the Land They Have Lived on for 1,400 years.

Israel has all the weapons, political and financial backing to complete its plan to kill any Palestinian who dares to question Israels right to any and all Land owned or claimed by a Palestinian.

Palestinians were hoping and praying for a right to form a Government and secure their National Borders in 1945. Then France, Great Brittian and the USA, gave European Jews the green light to slaughter any and all Palestinians who stood in their way from forming a Country over the Dead Bodies of Palestinians.

Israel always starts the debate with the statement "WE have a right to defend ourselves" and DO NOT EVER QUESTION HOW WE CAME TO FORM A COUNTRY!!

However the Palestinians have NO SUCH RIGHT AND NO RIGHT TO EVEN ONE SQUARE INCH OF PALESTINE.

Jack - You know Israeli History - 750,000 Palestinians were murdered or driven off their Land into neighbouring countries - So that Israelis could create -THE ONLY DEMOCRACY IN THE MIDDLE EAST!

MURDER - THEFT - HYPOCRISY - ARE ISRAELS FOUNDATION

"In it, he supported the killing of the people whom he despised, especially the Jews, but also other "undesirables", and pushed to conquer the world by slaughtering those who opposed his ideas."

Anyone who posts something like that has obviously not even read Mein Kampf.

Jack, either provide us with some citations, or STFU.

      A few notes!

A number of people have contacted me that they have commented, but none of them appears to have been "vetted". Only the critical comments go through!!

      Strange!!!

Concerning my friend, the old Marxist, Paul Harris, who asked if I read Mein Kampf, of course I did it, in German, one of my mother tongues.

And, my dear friend, don't be silly!! Hitler was in jail when dictating the book and would have not dared to directly call for the killing of Jews from there, which could have been a criminal offense. But he used the same twisted language like the Mafia dons, who never openly ask for someone to be killed.

"Mario should be more careful" is enough as a death sentence!!

      And what did Hitler say?

"The personification of the devil as symbol of all devils assumes the living shape of the Jew" (And all understood, what should be done with the devil!!)

"By defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting the work of the Lord!!"

"It requires all the force of the young masses to free them from the snares of the serpent!"

      What do you want more??

Finally, Martin Dunphy should firstly clarify if he wrote as a Straight editor/columnist or as a simple reader.

As for his question, if he can bring any proof of an official document issued by the Israeli government advocating the killing of all Muslims and Christians, like the Nazis and Hitler did, the comparison would be acceptable!

      Please show it to us!

Hamas is the official government in Gaza and their covenant reflects their official policies!!

Finally, when will ALL comments be allowed??

      @Jack

"The personification of the devil as symbol of all devils assumes the living shape of the Jew" (And all understood, what should be done with the devil!!)

"By defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting the work of the Lord!!"

Correct. And interestingly enough, the New Testament corroborates that when Christ addresses the (Edomite Jew) Pharisees.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
      John 8:44 (KJV)

Hitler was being quite honest after all!

But to you just more twisted language, no doubt.

Jack, as always you either intentionally or unintentionally mischaracterized my point. I wrote that your accusations about Hitler's book are simply untrue - no such things appear in Mein Kampf. And your accusations about the Hamas text also are not accurate.

You are, of course, entitled to equate the two; but you could readily do that without inventing fictitious 'evidence'. I'm reasonably sure you're smarter than that.

By the way, I'm not and never have been, a Marxist. I admire a lot of his economic thought, but not all of it. I am a socialist, and will go to my grave as one. As for calling me 'old' - kettle, meet pot.

And, Jack, I know you well enough to assert that Mr Dunphy is absolutely correct in his comments.
