Many British Columbians aren't aware that a huge shopping centre in Canada is under construction near the Tsawwassen ferrry terminal.

When it's fully built out, Tsawwassen Mills will be a 1.2-million-square-foot colossus that includes Forever 21, H&M, Old Navy, Marshalls, and nearly 200 other stores and food outlets.

This weekend, more than 60 of the mall's retailers will hold a job fair at Vancouver Convention Centre East (999 Canada Place).

They hope to hire more than 1,000 new employees.

On Saturday (June 25) it runs from noon to 7 p.m. The following day (June 26), it takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The mall is being developed by Ivanhoe Cambridge on land owned by the Tsawwassen First Nation.

The shopping centre is expected to open in October and will be about the same size as Surrey's Guildford Town Centre
