Expect delays on the Lions Gate Bridge this weekend

The B.C. government is warning motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists that there will be slowdowns over one of the Lower Mainland's major bridges.

Repaving of the north approach viaduct of the Lions Gate Bridge means that only one sidewalk will be open for cyclists and pedestrians tonight (August 27) and early Sunday (August 28) morning.

There will only be one lane open in each direction with traffic stoppages from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight and after that just single-lane alternating traffic overnight until 8 a.m. Sunday.

The best way to avoid the slowdowns is to take the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.
