No names have been released, but Vancouver police have provided more details about a crash involving a white Lexus in the downtown core.

The VPD stated that a 68-year-old male driver and a 70-year-old female passenger were killed instantly late yesterday afternoon when the car hit a tree and a light post at the intersection of Seymour and Davie streets.

Police say it''s "clear that speed is a factor" in the crash. It's believed that the Lexus came off the Granville Street Bridge.

The VPD also stated in its update that three male pedestrians in their 30s were taken to hospital "with a variety of injuries ranging from lacerations and bruising to a broken femur and punctured lung".

Police investigators and the coroner are looking into whether any medical conditions might have been a contributing factor.
