Empire Landmark hotel in Vancouver's West End could be demolished to make room for two new towers
One of Vancouver's better known hotels could soon be history.
CBC News has reported that the 357-room Empire Landmark hotel at 1400 Robson Street is slated for redevelopment.
The 410,000-square-foot, 42-storey tower is owned by Asia Pacific Development Group.
It's most famous for its top-floor dining establishment,Cloud 9 Revolving Restaurant, that overlooks the West End.
According to the CBC News report, the hotel will be replaced by two mixed-use towers.
Before that can happen, however, the proposal would have to be approved by Vancouver's development permit board.
