Vancouver police have announced that a man is in custody in connection with the death of a woman in an apartment near the corner of Rupert Street and Vanness Avenue.

John Hendricks Onland, 54, has been charged with manslaughter.

He was found in the unit where Candace Young, 61, was pronounced dead early Thursday (September 29) morning.

The VPD major crime section is still looking into this situation, according to a police news release.
