Richmond RCMP investigate alleged sexual assault

      RCMP in Richmond are looking into a reported sexual assault that occurred on October 7.

      The male suspect is described in a media release as a male, 5’10’’ to 5’ 11’’ tall. He was wearing dark pants, dark dress shoes, and a dark puffy jacket.

      According to Richmond RCMP, an 18-year-old female was walking northbound on Ash Street towards General Currie Road, and as she approached the Paulik Park Community Garden at around 7:30 pm, she was approached from behind.

      The unknown attacker pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The woman managed to fight off her attacker, and escaped.

      “We are still active in the area, conducting comprehensive neighbourhood canvassing and analyzing video surveillance footage,” Corporal Dennis Hwang stated in the media release.
