Richmond man charged in high-speed car crash that killed Vancouver senior in 2015

      A Richmond man has been charged in a high-speed car crash that killed a Vancouver senior on his way to work last year.

      On November 14, 2015, before 9 a.m., a 68-year-old Vancouver man was driving in a Suzuki to Oakridge Mall. When he turned left on West 41st Avenue, he was hit by a grey Audi headng north on Oak Street.

      The Suzuki driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died. The Audi driver was also taken to hospital for minor wounds and then released.

      An investigation found that the Audi was travelling at least 143 kilometres per hour.

      The Audi driver, 43-year-old Richmond resident Ken Chung, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.
