Massive demonstration held in Vancouver against Kinder Morgan pipeline

      There appears to be a consensus among the central Canadian media establishment that the Kinder Morgan pipeline is a done deal.

      You can hear it on the talk shows and you can read about it in the newspapers.

      According to this point of view, once Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet give the green light, the Texas-based energy giant will be able to start construction.

      And eventually, it will triple bitumen shipments to the West Coast to 900,000 barrels a day.

      Today, people in Vancouver sent a different message with a massive march through the streets, ending at the Vancouver Public Library.

      It's starting to resemble the fight over a freeway coming into Vancouver in the early 1970s.

      All the experts thought it was a certainty. Then the people stood up and said "no".
