Shirtless man attacks Black Friday crowd with belt in downtown Vancouver

In past years, Canadians watched violence erupt on Black Friday south of the border. Now that the sales event has moved north of the 49th parallel, violence has come with it.

In Vancouver on the evening of November 25, a large crowd gathered outside the Adidas store at 848 Granville Street for the release of a limited-edition BAPE x adidas Originals Collection shoe.

However, no security was in place. As the crowd grew restless, they began chanting.

At one point, fights broke out and a shirtless man was caught on video using a belt as a whip against the crowd.

Another man eventually tackled him from behind, and the crowd moved in to surround him.

Police were called in and the shirtless man was arrested.

The sale was called off but the shoes were raffled off on November 26.
