Reuters news agency has reported that a Trump administration insider will visit Calgary on Tuesday (January 24).

Jared Kushner, son-in-law to Donald Trump and husband of Ivanka Trump, will speak to Justin Trudeau and his ministers, according to an unnamed source.

The Canadian cabinet is holding a two-day retreat to discuss how to deal with the incoming Trump administration.

Kushner is a wealthy 37-year-old real-estate investor who's been appointed special adviser to the U.S. president.

He's also publisher of the New York Observer.

In the past, Kushner's family supported Democratic Party candidates, including Hillary Clinton when she ran for the U.S. Senate.

His father, Charles Kushner, went to jail after being prosecuted by Chris Christie, who later went on to become New Jersey's governor.

Kushner senior pleaded guilty to 18 counts of making illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering.

Jared Kushner's grandparents were Holocaust survivors and the family is a strong supporter of the state of Israel.
