The U.S. Coast Guard has reported that the body of missing Canadian filmmaker and conservationist Rob Stewart has been located after several days of searching.

The 37-year-old Stewart, from Toronto, had been reported missing near the Alligator Reef in the Florida Keys on January 31 after he surfaced from his third dive of the day while working on his latest documentary Sharkwater: Extinction.

The U.S. Coast Guard had launched a search for him by air and sea but at a press conference held earlier today, they announced that they had planned to suspend the search by sunset today (at 6:15 p.m. EST).

However, they reported around 4 p.m. PST that his body was located at a depth of 220 feet.

His family has confirmed that his body was found.
