Let no one say that Canada isn't respected south of the border.

This past weekend Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made his first visit to the White House since the election of Donald Trump.

The U.S. president was, for a change, in a positive mood, promising to build bridges to Canada with an increase in trade, improved flows at border crossings, and better labour mobility.

With Trudeau at his side, Trump announced, “America is deeply fortunate to have a neighbour like Canada.”

And if you need further proof of just how much weight our Prime Minister carries in Washington, click above for the official statement from White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

According to Spicer, Trump had a very productive meeting with "Joe Trudeau".

Who cares if they can't remember Justin's name at the White House—at least they seemed to realize that he was from Canada.
