Burnaby RCMP are investigating another sexual-assault case.

According to a news release issued by the Mounties, a woman was followed by a tall man with a medium to heavy build as she was walking to her car in an SFU parking lot on Burnaby Mountain.

"The victim heard a noise behind her and was grabbed by the suspect," the police said. "She was then held by the suspect and sexually assaulted. The suspect quickly released the victim and ran away when voices from passersby were heard in the area."

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on February 21.

The suspect was wearing a grey, long-sleeved hoodie or shirt and spoke in a deep voice with no accent.

"We want to caution the public when walking at night to stick to well lit areas and stay off your electronic device to increase your situational awareness," Staff Sgt. Major John A. Buis said. "You may also contact SFU campus security if you wish to be escorted to your car."

Nearly a year ago, Burnaby RCMP issued a public warning after three sexual assaults over a one-and-a-half-month period.

Two occurred on Springer Street and the third took place on Burnaby Mountain.
