More snow in Metro Vancouver causes TransLink to detour a few bus routes

      This morning, Lower Mainland residents woke up to a little bit of snow and some slushy roads.

      According to the latest weather alert from the Goverment of Canada, five to 10 centimetres will accumulate in some areas.

      "A low pressure system offshore is producing bands of snow over the inner South Coast," the alert stated at 7:10 a.m. "Snow is expected to ease this morning, however flurries or showers will continue through the day."

      At 8:07 a.m. today, TransLink announced that the following bus routes have been detoured due to road conditions:

      27 Joyce/Kootenay Loop Service is routing via Joyce Street, Kingsway, Rupert in both directions (Omit Wellington)

      100 Marpole/22nd St Stn Service is routing via 7 Ave, 20 St, Southridge both directions (Omit Trapp)

      180 Moody Ctr/Lougheed Stn Service is staying on Clarke Road in both directions.

      601 Bridgeport/South Delta Service is routing via 53A St, 8 Ave, 56 St then regular route. Currently no service south of 8th Avenue

      Service to SFU is currently operating with delays. Please allow extra travel time.

      185 Coquitlam Ctrl/Lansdowne service is only operating as far north as David Ave.

      185 Coquitlam Ctrl/Hampton Park service is only operating as far north as David Ave.

      185 Coquitlam Ctrl/Parkway Blvd service is only operating as far north as David Ave.

      SkyTrain and SeaBus services are operating normally.
