More snow expected in Metro Vancouver but so far, transit system is operating normally

      A federal weather alert was issued this morning predicting more snow in the Lower Mainland.

      "Isolated flurries and showers along with some sunny breaks are expected today," the alert states. "But by tonight, a more organized band of precipitation will move through the region. This band will likely give local snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 cm."

      There could be an additional two to five centimetres on Tuesday (March 7).

      The cool weather is being caused by cold and moist air coming from the Gulf of Alaska.

      Following this weekend's snowfall, there is some black ice on local roads this morning.

      Even though conditions aren't great, TransLink reported at 6:19 a.m. that buses, SeaBuses, SkyTrain, West Coast Express, and HandyDart are all operating normally.
