A Vancouver man who perished in an avalanche on March 4 has been identified as Corey Lynam.

The 33-year-old was an engineer and father of one.

He was skiing with a large group of friends on Mount Sproatt near the Callaghan Valley when the snow gave way.

A Go FundMe page has been created to raise money for his widow Bri and young son Iver.

"Corey will always be a shining example of a great father, husband, and friend," the page states. "He was a truly remarkable person who inspired all those around him. He was a passionate and talented skier and kiteboarder. He loved adventure and lived life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him."

A Facebook page has also been created so that friends can share their pictures of Lynam.
