Another art business has left the South Granville neighbourhood.

A lease-termination notice has been placed on the window of the shuttered Fragrant Wood Gallery, declaring that it is in default on its rent.

The business was in the Clock Tower building on the northwest corner of Granville and West Broadway, directly across the street from an Indigo store and a Royal Bank.

The Fragrant Wood Gallery opened in 2011, specializing in wood sculptures from Bali and China. It later expanded into other areas, including tea service.

Last year, it even offered a wicker motorcycle for sale, sometimes placing it in front of the business.

In recent years, the South Granville neighbourhood as lost several high-profile art businesses, including the Winsor, Monte Clark, Catriona Jeffries, and Equinox galleries.

Among those still in this part of town are Heffel Fine Art Auction House, Douglas Reynolds Gallery, Ian Tan Gallery, and Baux-Xi Gallery.
