Police issue public warning after sexual assault in South Vancouver

      Vancouver police are seeking the public's assistance after a 51-year-old woman was grabbed and groped early this morning near the corner of East 48th Avenue and Elliott Street.

      The suspect threw her to the ground but then let her after she started screaming and yelling.

      He's described as a white 5'10" male in his 50s with a light brown jacket and black toque.

      The attack occurred at 5:45 a.m. and the assailant spoke English.

      “It’s still very early in the investigation and we have limited information so far,” Const. Jason Doucette said in a VPD news release. “We’re encouraging citizens to call police any time they feel their safety is at risk.”
