Transgender NDP candidate Morgane Oger opens up early lead against Sam Sullivan in Vancouver–False Creek

      The B.C. Liberals have a huge lead in the popular vote in early returns in the B.C. election.

      But the B.C. NDP has a lead over incumbent B.C. Liberal Sam Sullivan in Vancouver–False Creek.

      With five of 93 ballot boxes reported, transgender candidate Morgane Oger has 345 votes to Sullivan's 224.

      Oger is on leave as chair of the Vancouver school district's district parent advisory council.

      Sullivan is a former Vancouver mayor.

      The B.C. Liberals are leading in 42 constituencies and the NDP is leading in 35.
