A development plan for a new downtown Vancouver hotel is working its way through city hall.

The proposed 13-storey hotel is to be located at the former site of the Edward Chapman clothing store at 833 West Pender Street.

The Urban Design Panel was scheduled to review the development plan for the 6,235-square-foot property Wednesday (May 17).

The hotel proposed by the Executive Group Development will have 106 rooms and a restaurant on the ground floor.

To the west of the development site is the eight-storey Pender Pacific Building, and to the east is the new 31-storey Exchange tower currently under construction.

The public has until May 19 to comment on the project.

The city’s development permit board will look at the application on June 26.
