B.C. Green Leader Andrew Weaver says British Columbians are tired of the "partisan games and attempted power plays" by the Christy Clark government.

"Today, the B.C. Liberals surprised us with a vote to award the B.C. Green Caucus official party status," Weaver said in a news release. "Moments earlier I spoke with the media and made it clear that our caucus will not debate legislation until the confidence of the house has been tested."

He noted that Clark has had more than six weeks since the May 9 election to subject her government to a confidence vote, yet she continues to delay doing so.

"If she is serious about acting in the best interests of British Columbians, there is nothing stopping the B.C. Liberal caucus from voting to test confidence of the house immediately," Weaver declared. "The B.C. Green caucus has committed to act on principle, and will continue to do so going forward."
