Two fires in southwestern B.C. have kept crews busy on the Canada Day weekend.

A one-hectare blaze broke out near the base of Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler.

There's no reported damage to any buildings in the popular four-season resort.

Fire officials said it was likely human-caused. Air tankers and snow-making equipment have been used to extinguish the fire.

Meawhile, another much human-caused fire is burning about 30 kilometres north of Harrison Hot Springs above the east side of Harrison Lake.

Hundreds of campers and other recreational users in the area have been cleared out to offer better access to firefighters.

"Checkpoints have been established on the Harrison East Forest Service Road at the 15-kilometre and 42.5-kilometre marks, north to the Shovel Creek Forest Service Road, and eastward to and including the Shovel Creek Forest Service Road," the B.C. Wildfire Service states on the government website. "The area extends along the eastern shore of Harrison Lake from Bear Creek to Stokke Creek."

This fire is estimated to be 60 hectares and is zero percent contained.

The fire on the east side of Harrison Lake is in an area heavily used by outdoor enthusiasts.
