Anna Di Carlo: Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada works to empower the people

The Marxist-Leninist party’s vision of Canada is one where all people are able to decide what kind of society they want to live in. They could decide the direction of the economy and participate in the democratic process so as to exercise control over their lives. Today, this is not possible. We have a cartel party system that actually deprives the people of their ability to decide things.

Our issue of concern

Because of the current political set-up, it doesn’t matter which vision the MLPC or any other organizations or individuals have. The agendas and visions that prevail are those of the parasites that dominate the economy and political domain.

All aspects of political, economic, and social life in Canada need renewal and this happens as people take control of the situation, as in No Means No!

If Canadians don’t solve the problem of how to put themselves in control of the decision-making process, nation-wrecking will continue apace and the rotten climate of fending for oneself as a result of the destruction of the public domain will cause even more disasters. We need reforms that address this central problem. The political parties of the establishment do not want to abandon their positions of privilege and power.

Take the example of the efforts of the people in B.C. to win some democratic reforms. Two decades ago this October, they voted in a referendum in favour of the right to recall and the right to initiate legislation, with a majority of 81.2 percent. When the time finally came for the political parties to pass the required legislation, people across the country and of course in B.C. were shocked to see the onerous conditions put in place by the political parties to obstruct the exercise of these two political mechanisms by the people.

A similar experience was encountered following the 2004 citizens’ assembly. The referendum for the STV system, which would have minimally weakened party control over candidate selection, was sabotaged. Held in conjunction with the provincial election where all the resources were in the hands of the establishment parties, a legitimate expression of the popular will was made impossible. This experience confirmed how these parties obstruct the movement for empowerment.

Why the MLPC deserves your vote

The MLPC candidates in British Columbia deserve your vote because they work to empower Canadians. Year-round they fight for the rights of the people to be provided with a guarantee, including the right to health care, education, and security in retirement. They oppose the plunder of our resources such as the export of raw logs, and the privatization of health care, education, and other services in the public domain, such as the post office. They stand against the destruction of manufacturing jobs and the environment, the criminalization of First Nations, women, and youth, et cetera, and for the recognition of the hereditary rights of the First Nations. They also oppose the use of force to settle conflicts internationally, the use of torture, indefinite detentions, secret prisons, and so on.

Come elections, Canadians are supposed to give up their demands and choose one of the so-called major parties to represent them. This is not acceptable. Parties such as ours actually represent mainstream public opinion, but we are called “fringe” and “extremist”, terms that actually apply to the likes of Harper, Ignatieff, et al.

The MLPC calls on Canadians to work together for democratic renewal and to create an antiwar government.

Anna Di Carlo is the leader of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada.

Marxism has proven itself to be an absolute disaster for the human race over the last 100 years. Possibly the worst of all isms.

And the people who follow such philosophy and political views? Normally well-meaning but misguided. But sometimes disenfranchised Machiavellian. In either case, a sad bunch.

Capitalism has proven itself to be an absolute disaster for the human race over the last 100 years. Possibly the worst of all isms., except for maybe, you know, "Pessimism" - but I digress...

And the people who follow such philosophy and political views? Normally well-meaning, deeply fearful slaves afraid of taking control over their existence, but otherwise, patently clueless. Like folks who'd say something like, oh, I dunno, "disenfranchised Machiavellian".
In either case, a sad bunch of "whipped by capital" scaredy cats ("Whu-chi!"). Mee-ow!

REPRESSION, GULAGS, MURDER AND TERROR. THE MURDER OF MORE THAN 100,000,000 MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN IS EVIDENCE ENOUGH OF THE DECEPTIONS PERPETRATED BY THE MARXIST-LENINIST -- PERFECTLY ILLUSTRATED BY V.L. LENIN'S OPERATION TRUST. BUT OVER 65,000,000 REFUGEES HAVE ALSO FLED FROM LENINIST-MARXIST IDEOLOGY TO CAPITALIST COUNTRIES. IT IS A LIE TO SAY THAT THE MARXIST "VISION" IS ONE WHERE "ALL PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO DECIDE WHAT KIND IF SOCIETY THEY WANT LIVE IN." FOR THE DECEPTIVE HEGELIAN-DIALECTIC CONSENSUS PROCESS, OR "SOVIET," IS A FACILITATED PROCESS WHERE A DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE DIALOGUE A SOCIAL ISSUE TOWARD A PREDETERMINED OUTCOME(DECIDED BY THE ELITES). NO LESS EVIDENCE IS THE INTOLERANCE OF MARXIST-LENINISTS OF CHRIST BELIEVERS OR CRITICS OF MARXIST LENINIST REGIMES. SUMMED UP IN THE SINGLE SENTENCE: ABOLITION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY. AND THE EXTERMINATION OF ALL LIVES WHO HOLD TITLE TO IT.

Bruce, take a deep breath. Anna is not calling for the murder of all land-holders, and it isn't 1917.

Yes there were refugees from states which have called themselves "Marxist". There have also been millions of people in "capitalist" countries who've been worked to death or died homeless and unemployed. Don't be selectively ignorant by assuming that one system is totally good, the other totally bad.

Modern Marxists are all - with VERY few exceptions - deeply democratic people, who believe we need a fairer, more sustainable economic system - and one which is more compatible with real democracy (capitalism really is not!).
The horrors committed by Stalin et. al. are just as remote from what Marxists want as the horrors committed by dictators of capitalist states are remote from what you want. (Although, from your rhetoric, it sounds possible that you'd justify killing people just for carrying the 'Marxist' label. perhaps the reason you fear them is that you're projecting your own intolerance and bloodthirstiness onto them. Not all people are like you, though.)

I'm voting strategically in this election, but the MLP should know there are many who would vote for them IF we ever do get proportional representation. The federal NDP does at least claim to support PR.

YOU CANNOT DISTANCE MARXIST-LENNINISM FROM THE CRIMES OF STALIN, AS DECEPTION AND THE IDEOLOGY ARE INSEPARABLE.

The people who are bashing Capitalism must realize we don't have true capitalism. Our government provides corporate welfare and in a true capitalist society, the government can't be a nanny to anyone.

@ Bruce

That is just silly, that is the 'old' party. Focus on the new!

Listen, if I can just step in, Dan. I know that the word [ makes quotes sign ] "Nazi" conjures up a lot of negative images, but this is the new Nazi Party, where we're no longer focused on a culture of hate. We're focused on the issues that really matter, like the economy, the media, finance -- you know, Jew stuff.*

'India Marxists face vote for survival in W. Bengal
Posted: 17 April 2011 1305 hrs
Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee

KOLKATA: The Indian state of West Bengal goes to the polls Monday in a vote that looks set to end three decades of uninterrupted rule by the world's oldest democratically elected communist government.

The Left Front, led by the Communist Party of Indian (Marxist), or CPI-M had, until recently, won every election in the eastern state since 1977.

But straight successive losses in council, parliamentary and municipal polls have left the communists struggling for survival.

Opinion polls suggest the Left Front is headed for a crushing defeat at the hands of a woman who has emerged as one of India's most powerful and feisty politicians, Mamata Banerjee -- known to her followers simply as "didi" or sister.

Banerjee, who casts herself as a champion of the poor, has ridden a wave of popular discontent with the Communist government's handling of the economy that has left industry in decline and the state neck-deep in debt.

"The government's defeat is written on the wall," Banerjee, 56, told a recent campaign rally. "History is about to be made."
.....
The Left Front's land acquisition policy has "become its nemesis," said Sabyasachi Basu Roy Chowdhury, a political science professor.

The policy "boomeranged on the government," agreed Abhirup Sarkar, a professor at the Indian Statistical Institute. "You cannot force a person to sell off his land."

The Marxist Leninist Party of Canada is right in many ways. Capitalism is evil and undemocratic, they are right about the need for a democratic economy and workers power.

But their is a thing that is keeping voters away form the party. The MLPC is hardcore Stalinist. They love Stalin and Mao, they are classic Stalinists, not like those Stalinists who became reformed after Stalin's death in 1953.

The real name of the party is Communist Party of Canada - Marxist Leninist. But they have to use the name MLPC because the old communist party ( reformed after 1953 ) is still there and they use the name Communist Party of Canada.

Again the party right about capitalism and the need for socialism. But their love for Stalin, Mao, Enver Hoxha and their support for Kim Jong Il, is what keeping me from voting for this party.

I never knew that MLPC was for Stalin and Mao. As soon as I am of legal voting age, I will vote for the party that assures my future, and when the next depression comes, so will you. I've been living in a capitalist country, and I am right because Stalin killed people. At least read what Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote, it's good!

What Lenin did in 1917 was one of the greatest acheivments in history. Unfortunately, due to his early death and Stalins takeover, the Soviet Union was never able to gain the classless state it wanted. But you cannot take away from what that man did. And Bruce, if you cannot draw a clear line between Lenin and Stalin, then you are just ignorant. I dont know if I support this party, I have to read into their policies first. But I am damn sure I support the works of those three great men, Marx, Engels, and Lenin

Marxist leninists are useful critics of capitalism but communism has never been a feasible substitute for generating the goods and services that we use to live, the surplus of which is reinvested in development. There is plenty of waste and unfair imbalance in our system but at least people eat. Hell three quarters of us are like land yachts.

Communists are to governance as Tony Gallagher is to the Canucks. You are glad to have that voice, that insistence that things can be done better, and a rabid energy to keep people interested and critical, but he's never actually played, coached, or led and fundamentally cannot.

I agree that current system is pretty rotten. I am conservative and against all these stupid wars Canada gets involved - the are imperialistic wars. The lefties spend money on butter - welfare state action, the conservatives spend it on warfare state action. I hate both. I want a mini government, cause I want to be free. I don't want these dummies to tell me not to smoke - because they know better and cause of social welfare state they are forced to keep a lid on hospital costs- that's why they don't want me to smoke...or the warfare proponents need big budgets (also tax money) to buy all those warfare toys like F-35 or head to Afghanistan to aid help nutball crooks like Bush & Cheney and now nutball Ratcatcher Obama ("Change" & BS Peace Nobel Prize Laureate). We need an election reform - make it possible that all citizens have some input in Parliament via internet. There should also be a popular vote percentage presentation in parliament, not just first past the post system. Also if we want to be a kingdom, well that's fine let's get a Canadian Dynasty that's lives actually in Canada and not on some Island in Europe.
