Evacuation order expanded in Central Okanagan due to wildfire

Emergency Info BC has reported that the Trepanier forest fire near Peachland has led to an expanded evacuation order and alert.

There has also been a second emergency support-service reception centre opened at the Summerland Arena and Curling Club (8820 Jubilee Road East).

The interface fire was reported around 3 p.m. Residents in the Peachland area have been asked not to use irrigation systems to conserve water, which will be used to fight the fire.
