Kristen Stewart tops Forbes list of best-paid Hollywood actresses

On other occasions, you get to write about an exceedingly important topic that might fascinate you, even though it may have little traction with the vast majority.

As an example, I wrote a review today of veteran journalist Ahmed Rashid's book examining Pakistan-U.S. relations.

It's called Pakistan on the Brink—and it offers a detailed explanation why the Obama administration is having so much trouble with that country.

But I have a hunch that far more North Americans are interested in Forbes magazine's latest list of top-paid actresses.

Leading the charge is Twilight star Kristin Stewart, who racked up $34.5 million in earnings between May 2011 and May 2012.

Second on the list is Cameron Diaz at $34 million, followed by Sandra Bullock at $25 million.

Kristin Stewart is much prettier than Ahmed Rashid, which is why her photo appears here along with someone else who's prettier than Rashid.

Guess which article is more likely to show up on the "most popular" list on the right-hand side of the home page?
