Canadian murder suspect Luka Rocco Magnotta is in a Berlin jail after having been arrested in an Internet café in the German city

This morning, CBC News reported that he is expected to appear before a judge tomorrow.

"As far as I know, he was arrested alone, and there was no struggle," Berlin police Chief-Supt. Stefan Riedrich told CBC News.

Magnotta is suspected of committing the macabre murder of Chinese university student Jun Lin in Montreal. Magnotta, a 29-year-old porn actor from Scarborough, Ontario, allegedly mailed Lin's body parts to political parties and put the torso in a suitcase.

The suspect also allegedly videotaped part of the killing and posted it on the Internet, attracting media coverage around the world.

Interpol issued a "Red Notice" regarding Magnotta, which is done "to communicate to police worldwide that a person is wanted by a member country and request that the suspect be placed under provisional arrest pending extradition".

If he had sent the foot to someone else, including any other political party, he would have probably gotten away with it.

This was the fasted, most efficient investigation ever done because it was a "threat" to the conservative party.

Still find this story about Luka Magnatto so sad and deeply troubling. He apparently was treated for psychiatric issues previously. Not sure what his past was like but I suspect very difficult. In the gay world though young men like Mr Magnotta are targeted, exploited and used. Apparently he was into BDSM activities and this is scary. I have always believed that some people into this trype of activity have a distorted reality and I've heard horror stories from those who got out of this lifestyle which isn't always safe, sane and consensual. I have empathy for the victim and the accused who both had what appeared to be darker sides to them. But I also have to say that we live in such a evil society where people have become desensitized to some awful things happening out there. Many people watched the snuff video allegedly put up by Mr Magnotta and that to me is even scarier. These people who watched such a video have issues of their own. Really troubling if you ask me.

This story and some of the others that came out in the past week really put in mind the work of John Calhoun and his study on overpopulation and rats. You have to wonder at the end of the day, will the pattern have the same effect on humans?

the canadian justice system for the metally ill i.e. the murderers are quite messed up imo.from karla homolka who is now a "free" woman with a family, that man who beheaded a guy in a bus who has been granted with one hour of daily stroll with security escorts in a certain community which has been recently extended from morning to afternoon strolls, what's next? without security escorts? and now this Allyson, child killer case. Oh, and Luka Magnotta. He linked himself with Karla Homolka. Maybe he was thinking "oh this karla homolka got it easy, got a degree while in prison and now is free.how bad can it get?"Goodness.

Look up the game Ripper w/Christopher Walken. This guy wholesale copied the plot. The rest was straight out of Basic Instinct.

Figures he would be arrested looking up articles about himself. I'm betting he will go full Anders Breivik in court lapping up the attention and probably will try to be his own lawyer.

      Narcissus undone:

"...a worker at the Internet café said the owner noticed a man checking out a website about Mr. Magnotta. The customer looked like Mr. Magnotta and so the owner left the café to call police."
