Missing person alert: North Vancouver RCMP searching for Jasper Houben

Update: Dead North Shore hiker identified as missing German student Jasper Houben

North Vancouver RCMP are seeking the public's help in finding a missing international student named Jasper Houben.

Houben, who lives in the 4000 block of Ranger Avenue in North Vancouver, failed to show up for a scheduled shift at work on West Pender Street in Vancouver on June 25.

He was described as punctual and meticulous, and his failure to appear at work is perceived as out of character.

His last Facebook activity was on June 22 and he was last seen by friends on June 23.

He is described as a 22-year-old Caucasian male, 5'9", 160 lbs, with receding light brown hair, thick lens glasses, and a protruding Adam's apple. He was expected to have been carrying a black backpack.

North Vancouver RCMP are investigating. Anyone who sees Houben is asked to call 911.
