Nordstrom will take 230,000 square feet of space in Pacific Centre
Cadillac Fairview, has secured Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom as a tenant in four Canadian malls, including Pacific Centre in Vancouver.
This will be the first time the company has entered the Canadian market.
In Vancouver, Nordstrom will occupy three floors with approximately 230,000 square feet, which is currently leased by Sears Canada.
The new store is expected to open in the spring of 2015.
This area has become a hotter retail zone in recent years with the development of the Canada Line, which made it easier to travel to the city from Richmond and the airport.
The other Nordstrom stores will be in malls in Calgary, Ottawa, and Toronto.
"It's exciting to finally have this opportunity to better serve our Canadian customers closer to home and we can't wait to open our doors," Nordstrom Inc. president Erik Nordstrom said in a statement.

Nordstrom certainly has a lot to teach Canadian retailers about value and customer service - if Woodwards and Eatons hadn't forgotten what these things meant, we might still have a competitive domestic department store sector. Pull your socks up, Hudson's Bay.
It is great that a tenant has been found for the location, one that will provide jobs. I just know that I will not be spending my money there.
