Park change could set precedent for the future
I am very concerned about the removal of land from the Stawamus Chief Provincial Park for development [“ Stawamus Chief Park expansion proposed”, April 26–May 3].
The Stawamus Chief is a Class A provincial park, and the gondola proposal deviates from its planned uses outlined in the master plan. All of us who love the Chief deserve a public say in the park’s future.
This development by Sea to Sky Gondola Corp. should be reviewed through public hearings. It would set a dangerous precedent to remove lands from Class A parks for development without public consultation.
