RCMP recommend charges against two more men in Pitt Meadows gang rape case
Police are recommending charges be laid against two men in connection to the alleged gang rape of a 16-year-old girl at a party held last month in Pitt Meadows.
Ridge Meadows RCMP are asking the Crown to charge an 18-year-old man with sexual assault causing bodily harm.
The force is proposing another man be charged with distribution of child pornography.
The Crown has not yet approved the charges.
“Because of the high community interest in this case, we have gone to the unusual step of advising the community, through the media, that recommendations for charges against two additional individuals have now gone forward to Crown,” Sgt. Peter Thiessen, spokesperson for the RCMP Lower Mainland District Regional Police Service, said today (October 15) in a press release. “However, this remains an active investigation, and once again we encourage anyone who has further information about the events of that evening to come forward to police.”
A 16-year-old from Maple Ridge is already facing charges of production of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
