Transit free, SkyTrain service extended on New Year’s Eve

Comments

New Year’s Eve revellers can look forward to free use of the transit system and extended hours of service in the Vancouver area.

After 5 p.m. on December 31, passengers riding by bus, SkyTrain, or SeaBus will not have to pay fare, according TransLink. The no-charge period runs until service ends for the day.

SkyTrain service will run for an extra hour that night, with the last train leaving Waterfront Station for King George Station at 2:16 a.m.

On the Canada Line, the last train from Waterfront Station to YVR-Airport Station leaves at 2:05 a.m. Meanwhile, the last train from Waterfront Station to Richmond-Brighouse Station leaves at 2:15 a.m.

Bus service will follow typical schedules for the day, but extra buses will be added on some routes to handle higher demand, TransLink says.

The NightBus final departure times from downtown Vancouver will not change for New Year’s Eve.

SeaBus service will be extended by one hour with final sailings from Waterfront at 2:16 a.m. and Lonsdale Quay at 2:06 a.m.

I plan on doing all the illegal things that I can do to smoke pot and drink excessively, then take transit. BC is the best place on earth and TransLink is the best transit company in the world. Hmmm, didn't the British keep the Chinese stoned on opium to exploit them, whatever, I'm smoking lots of weed and riding transit for free because I don't have a job and can't afford the taxi, yippie !

Kudos to Translink! The reason for the free passage is, "so that you don't drive drunk".

BC is indeed the best place on earth, for those of you who disagree, you need to travel to other countries to witness poverty, crime and I am sure you'd conclude Canada is indeed a great place to live in.

Happy New Year !!!

Yeah, if you look at other countries that are powerty-stricken you will definately agree Bc is the best. If you look at the people, though, you won't. But who gives a fuck? Free transit for all!
