Vancouver man arrested after stabbing, say police
A man has been arrested and faces possible charges after an early morning stabbing in southeast Vancouver, police say.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 6100-block of Battison Street near Burnaby’s Central Park before 5 a.m. today (July 26).
Officers found a 31-year-old man who had been stabbed in his stomach, according to a news release from police.
The man was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
A Vancouver man was arrested and police said he could face charges related to assault and weapons.
“Investigators have located a possible crime scene in the 6200 Battison Street [area] and will be there throughout the morning,” police said in the release.
“At this early stage the motive for the assault is unknown but investigators do not believe this was a random attack as it appears the victim and the suspect know each other.”
