Vernon plane crash kills two
Various media outlets have reported that a small twin-engine plane has crashed in a sports field near the airport in Vernon.
Both people on board have reportedly died.
"It appears the airplane touched the ground, then cart-wheeled and then burst into flames on contact," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk told CBC.
According to the Vernon Morning Star, the plane exploded on Marshall Field shortly before 1 p.m.
The local paper reported that the plane was believed to have taken off from the nearby airport.
Below, you can see the report from Castanet News, which has reported that both people onboard the plane were believed to be male.
The tail is partially intact, but the rest of the plane is destroyed.
