Horticultural Therapy (HT) is a professional practice that uses horticultural and plant-based activities to promote general health and wellness and support therapeutic treatment programs in such settings as hospitals, complex care facilities, and rehabilitation programs. A horticultural therapist develops objectives and measurable outcomes for a specific client and adapts activities for a variety of indoor and outdoor settings. Seasonal gardening and nature-based activities are readily adapted for people of all ages and abilities.
