Jennie Ramstad was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., and began her lifelong love affair with the printed word with a fateful childhood visit to the library. She began her writing career after getting a B.A. in English and Early Childhood Education from SFU.

Hired by the Georgia Straight in 2010, Jennie writes mainly for the food, book, and movie sections. She covers things related to literature or anything edible, events happening around Metro Vancouver, and the odd viral video. She also spends more time on a computer than is probably good for her.

When she’s not hard at work, you can find Jennie reading, practicing her mandolin, experimenting with strange new recipes, futzing with things that should not be futzed with, exploring her fascination with anything British, and scouring used-book stores for her next great read.
