So many wasted people. Yay Canada! Should we be proud? Hey kids look, when you achieve something, go out and drink until you can barely form a sentence and have issues with the whole one foot in front of the other thing that we all take for granted. Yesss! Nice one. IS this patriotism? If only we could rally behind issues such as homelessness, education, health-care, the environment, political reform, corruption, crime, and on and on, oh hey don't forget war and human rights. Now imagine that all the energy for partying and so-called patriotism that was expended for the OWElimpics was shown for all the critical issues facing us... That would be something to behold... This is nothing more than selfish indulgence masquerading as patriotism. Its sad really, if you take the time to place it in context.

I agree with RMurphy..... often not "patriotism" but instead an excuse to get obscenely drunk in public, with cheering as the mask.
