Vancouver’s Crystal Lowe gets a bionic break.

Crystal Lowe is set to become a household name with her role as Jessica Neil, BFF to the Bionic Woman (Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on CHEK and NBC). Many girls had this childhood dreamwell, maybe more to be the Bionic Woman herself, but being a part of the entourage is just as good. Lowes work spans modelling, television, and film, including lead roles in Black Christmas, That One Night, and Wrong Turn 2. Often cast as really, really evil, Lowe hopes to move on to more dramatic roles.

How do you describe your home style?
“Modern, sleek, and simple, but I really do like some funky pieces.”¦My friend is a designer, so she’s taught me how to make these random things. If you can’t find something, just make it. It’s just easier, and then I can get exactly what I want.”

Whats your favourite place to cocoon?
My kitchen table. I just grab all my books and my laptop, and I sit by the window. Its become my place. Its comfortable.

      Where do you entertain?
“As much as I love having people come visit me, I’d rather call someone and have someone else cook.”¦I’d rather sit, and mingle, and talk over drinks than cook the dinner myself.”

      Whats your most extravagant purchase?
My Chinese cabinet: ballpark $1,000 to $2,000. I bought it at Moes [Home Collection, 2360 Granville Street].The only thing I spend money on is artwork. There is no price [limit] when it comes to art.

“My jewellery box, because my wonderful boyfriend knew I’d never been given one so he found one—an old wooden one—and he had it restored for me.”

      What’s your drink?
“I bartended for seven years, so I have a bunch. Normally, though, Red Alizé and 7 [7-Up]. But because I’m Asian, I can’t drink a lot or I go bright red and fall asleep.”

      What’s on your bedside table?
      “My iPod speakers and player.”

      What’s in your DVD player?
“Blades of Glory—it’s ridiculous and I love it and him [Will Ferrell].”

I never cook, but if I did, it would be the George Foreman grill.

      Whats your colour scheme?
Grey, dark brown, black, and [as] accent a bit of red.

      Whats your proudest gardening achievement?
