Nintendo's Wii Fit set for May launch in Canada

      The sun may be out and the mercury rising, but a new game from Nintendo may keep thousands inside for the summer. On May 21, the Wii Fit goes on sale across Canada, promising more than 40 games and activities.

      Using the Wii Balance Board, you can either try your hand at snowboarding or soccer, strike a pose in yoga with a perfect Palm Tree or Warrior, or just tone up and and let the device check your body mass index.

      When the gadget launched in Japan last year, one million copies were sold in 10 days . In the U.K., Amazon has ceased taking pre-orders in case they can't keep up with demand.

      It would be nice to think that Vancouverites will take the more practical option--and simply go outside to play. But with this kind of buzz, Wii're not optimistic.
