Best Made-in-Vancouver TV Show Ever

Battlestar Galactica

If you know your frakkin' TV, you had to know we were talking about Battlestar Galactica, which is consistently the smartest series on the tube. Emmy voters don't know what to do with it because they're all so old they keep thinking Lorne Greene's going to show up to yell at Boxy. And unlike most of the Yankee shows that take up all the good parking spaces downtown, Battlestar features local actors in key roles and has turned them into stars. Sure, there are other contenders–21 Jump Street gave the world Johnny Depp, The X-Files marked the spot for a long time, and, hey, Leo and Me launched Michael J. Fox, but check out the chemistry between Oscar nominees Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell as they declare their love this season, realize you're hoping the guy who decimated the human race will live, and then watch the shows again when the DVD box set comes out.
