TransLink to host a SkyTrain "unconference" this weekend
Have some ideas on SkyTrain safety and security? Wish there was a place to air these brilliant nuggets of wisdom? This weekend there will be.
SkyTrain is hosting its first ever "unconference" on Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SFU Surrey campus.
An unconference is a constructive, participant-driven event that's the opposite of a traditional conference. The schedule will be determined at the start of the day by the participants with volunteers leading each discussion.
Much like a bunch of the sessions of this past weekend’s Bar Camp Vancouver 2008, it promises to be a good way to get together with people who genuinely want to make things better.
More information and registration and a place to leave comments for the unconference can be found its blog site.
The event and the website are being facilitated in consultation with TransLink by Karen Fung, a member of the community with an interest in improving transit in our city.
