Ambulance workers and paramedics stage protest

At noon today the Ambulance Paramedics of B.C. (CUPE Local 873) staged a protest outside Canada Place.

The gathering, consisting of union members and their supporters, voiced concerns over alleged unsafe service levels, a lack of pay raises over years, and the contracting of private transfer services with no medical care.

Elsewhere, on-duty paramedics who are not busy on an emergency call will be hand-delivering letters to their local MLAs, stating the union's grievances.
