Ballet B.C. hires Andrew Wilhelm-Boyles to run its business affairs

Ballet British Columbia's board of directors  has appointed a familiar face as its new interim executive director.

Andrew Wilhelm-Boyles moves into the position immediately, according to a news release issued this morning.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside the board, artists, management, and staff to being rebuilding Ballet BC toward a new era of artistic achievement and financial stability," Wilhelm-Boyles said in the news release.

Wilhelm-Boyles is best known in Vancouver as the former  executive director of the Greater Vancouver Alliance for Arts and Culture. He is a former executive director of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

John Alleyne remains the artistic director of Ballet B.C. The former executive director, Susan Howard, was among several staff who were let go late last year before the company filed for court protection from its creditors.

Ballet B.C.'s next big event on the calendar will be between February 26 to 28 with a world premiere of James Kudelka's The Goldberg Variations--Side 2: Adam & Eve & Steve, as well as Carmen.
