Architecture for Humanity art auction at the Grace Gallery

Photo art by Stan Douglas, architectural sketches by Bing Thom and Peter Cardew, and dozens of other works hit the bidding block at the local chapter of Architecture for Humanity Vancouver’s first public event. Held at the Grace Gallery on Friday night (April 3), the event raises funds for the volunteer organization that brings architectural solutions and services to those in need. Look for Douglas’s black-and-white, Wild West–tinged portrait Gambler 3; the latest colour-saturated photo from Canadian media artist Toni Latour; a photo landscape from Winnipeg’s Lisa Stinner; two paper-cut pieces by Jennifer Mawby; and an original, giant poster for the SweaterLodge—the 400-square-metre polar-fleece-sweater installation that Vancouver designers Bill Pechet and Stephanie Robb debuted at the 2006 Venice Biennale. Get in on the bidding action and help build a better world.
