Peaches Geldof's ex claims marriage was a publicity stunt

Maxwell Drummey claims his seven-month marriage to Peaches Geldof was all a publicity stunt, the Daily Mail reports.

Drummey, guitarist with the American pop duo Chester French, says his Las Vegas nuptials to Sir Bob Geldof's daughter on August 5 of last year garnered his band "amazing publicity", and he joked that his ex-wife is actually on his payroll, stating "She's my friend for money". The couple announced on February 7 that their marriage had amicably ended.

The Mail also reports that Drummey made reference to Chris Brown's alleged assault of Rihanna, saying: "We're guys who have been hurt by women and I'm glad people like Chris Brown are finally taking it back and hurting women."

Chester French opens for the reunited Blink-182 at GM Place on July 28.
